lyrics

It was a blissful morning of spring
I opened a window to get some fresh air
The wind kissed my cheeks, I smiled with a wink
I thought: "I have never been calmer, I swear"

Suddenly, a little bird
Flew into my room
And all my peace burst.

It was in the afternoon hours of June
I sat on my porch, at peace and alone
My eyelids grew heavy from summer's perfumes
I drifted away, into the unknown

Suddenly, a little bird
Sat on my head
And all my peace burst.

Still up in the middle of deep and dark night
I felt inspiration rise, so I gave in
I wrote like a maniac, no end in sight
I had to keep writing, no stopping to think

But yet again my little child
Had different plans than me
He opened his eyes
And oh, how he cried
I closed my notebook
And smiled as I sighed

because

Suddenly, this little bird
Entered my life
and took over my world.
